A unique Mother’s Day

All Mum’s are unique and special. Being a Mum, or Dad, can be the hardest job in the world and we are certainly celebrating here at DimensionAlley. Something we love about 3D printing is the possibility to produce unique and personalised  items at a low cost. For Mother’s Day we have been printing everlasting roses and “I Love Mum” emblems which can be purchased at the café. If you feel more adventurous the process to create a completely unique gift is quite simple. At the cafe you can choose from CAD designs such as heart shapped boxes, owls, iPhone cases or orchid watering cans. These are made unique by selecting the colour to print with. As 3D printing, also known as additive manufacture, creates objects by laying down material layer-by-layer, we can even switch colours during the print time to create very individual effects.

Or why not design your own creation? Tools for newbies include Tinkercad and 123D design. If you design something at home or in the office then we can print your .stl format file. We also have some computers here that you can use to create your masterpiece and we can give a little assistance. If you like we can even model the gift for you based on your ideas.

Scanned bust are also a beautiful gift. So much more than a photograph they make a great desk topper or as a family memento above the fireplace.
